The Art of Gifting: Modern Calligraphy at Quill London

To celebrate the art of gifting, we invited some of our favourite influencers – Alice and Hannah from Belle & Bunty, Beth Elstone, Brittany Bathgate, Camilla Carril, Stephanie Peers, Ada Oguntodu and Patricia Batatas – to join us for an evening of modern calligraphy and more at Quill London. 1. Choosing the Gifts

It’s no secret that gift-giving is one of our favourite things about Christmas. That’s why we asked each influencer to create the perfect gift box for a loved one, filling them with a beautiful selection of accessories and homeware treasures.

2. Writing the Gift Tags

Next, it was time to write out the gift tags. Under the expert guidance of a Quill London calligrapher, we sat down for a hand-lettering workshop which focused on essential skills such as making basic shapes and strokes, before moving onto perfecting letter forms.

3. Decorating the Gift Boxes

Once the gifts were carefully packaged and the tags attached, each gift box was the decorated by a live painter. From flowers to phoenixes, the intricate designs took inspiration from signature Monsoon prints, and gave each gift a truly personalised touch.
