The Stephanie dress is a super-sparkling number, ensuring you’ll shine at your next special occasion. With a sleeveless lining, its semi-sheer overlay is lavishly embellished with glowing sequins, including stars, for a show-stopping finish. The long sleeves feature gathered ties for added detail.
Soni, a hand-embellishment artisan is one of the home workers that help create some of our gorgeous occasionwear dresses. She has worked on the Stephanie Star dress and loved the drop of beads in the design.
Soni is married to Shiv and has two children, her daughter Mansi is 10 years old and her son Abhay is 6 years old. Once the children started school she had more free time and decided to learn the skill of adda embellishment work. She is now able to contribute to the family income and save up for special occasions, such as Diwali, so she can buy her family gifts.
Working with craftspeople in faraway places is a complex process with lots of challenges. But it’s always been an important part of who we are and what we do. Our continued commitment to using hand-craft helps sustain skills and livelihoods, as well as adding something special and unique to our collections.
A member of our Monsoon team personally visits our artisans, to watch our beautiful product come to life and get to know the people behind the intricate craftsmanship. We’ve worked closely with our ARTISAN suppliers to introduce worker handbooks where artisans can track the number of pieces they’ve worked on and, in turn, keep a record of their wages. This helps create transparency in the supply chain, letting us know who is making our clothes, and allowing us to make sure that the artisans have been fully paid for their beautiful work.
