Fill your social calendar, because the limited-edition Monsoon x Sarah Corbett-Winder collection has landed, and it’ll be the reason why you won’t be wearing another sequin dress this Christmas party season.
Three things spring to mind when we think about Christmas party outfits: velvet, sequins and a whole lot of red dresses. But doing something original that stands out from the crowd can be a challenge. For me, it was all about making women feel fabulous. It’s chic, yet with a twist of playfulness.
As you know, I love a suit. The full sequin set is a very classic, slightly masculine design that really is going to make you feel sen-sational.
Embracing pieces that are playful, slightly flirty and scream party.
Ensure that you feel really great. Wear a statement. Be brave and push yourself… You own it!
Want to copy Sarah’s style? With the Monsoon x Sarah Corbett-Winder collection you can. This covetable capsule is the perfect marriage of Monsoon’s iconic partywear (think luxe sequins and rich velvet) with a wink to SCW’s unique personal style, as well as her signature tailoring, playful aesthetic and love for joyful details.
“If the Bottega Veneta and Ferragamo AW24 collections are anything to go by, it’s clear that earthy tones – think all shades of khaki, rust, brown, and earthy green – will take centre stage this season. A personal favourite from the Ferragamo show is *those* olive green thigh-high boots, a stunning shade which our Monsoon x SCW Satin Bow Velvet Jumpsuit shares. I’m calling it – this piece is a real conversation starter. Combining Sarah’s signature of sleek silhouettes with daring details – the bow is completely detachable to suit your mood. It’s the ultimate fashion party trick.
Wondering how to wear? Who What Wear’s Deputy Editor, Maxine Eggenberger explains, “Wearing one colour top-to-toe has long been a discipline used by celebrity stylists to make their clients’ outfits feel more pulled together and cohesive”, so I’ll be pairing mine with our green satin kitten heels.” Caroline
“Who What Wear reported that, “feathers were everywhere you looked,” at the AW24 shows. Oversized feather cuffs were seen at Louis Vuitton, monochrome boas swept the catwalk at David Koma, and the final runway look for Christian Siriano showcased a fiery red plume that decorated the asymmetrical side slit of a slinky cocktail dress. That’s why I am ob-sessed with the Feather Trim Crop Top and matching Cropped Trousers. A striking shade that SCW incorporates into her everyday looks, it’s iconic. I’ll be wearing mine with chunky loafers and strappy sandals alike.” Amber
“For SS25, power dressing dominated the runway. Stella McCartney’s ‘Office Siren’ looks showcased endless shoulder-padded silhouettes, Loewe’s sculptural trousers paired with simple single-breasted blazers, whilst the Bottega Veneta models walked with empowering strides in timeless tailoring. Looking at the trends emerging from the latest LFW catwalks, Vogue offered ‘opulence’ as something to sprinkle into your looks, with ornate, shimmering adornments being, ‘generously applied’ to their favourite looks. Not only is the Satin Sequin Blazer and matching Wide Leg Sequin Trousers from this collection a true reflection of SCW’s style, they’re also the perfect combination of these key trends. Shared in an interview with Wardrobe Icons, Sarah believes, “all women deserve to feel fab, and I think that wearing a great suit does this.” I love how her brand is all about empowering women through great tailoring – and this bronze-toned sequin co-ord does just that.” Nat
