Lottie’s Top 3 Pilates Tips

1. Clear some space

Make sure you have some space around your mat so you’re not bashing your arms on radiators or kicking doorframes. It only leads to frustration and a not-so-peaceful mat practice, so clear your space. It will help put you in the zone and it can help to clear your mind too.

 

2. Wear comfy clothes

I always feel better wearing activewear that I love and that fits well. It’s the little details that make a difference to your overall feeling of wellbeing and I always have a better session if I’m feeling good. Even at home, I try not to be in my PJs when I’m on my mat!

 

3. Turn off your notifications

When I’m teaching Pilates on retreat, we try to have as little tech time as possible. I might put the odd post up but I rarely scroll through social media. I know you may need your phone to follow the routine but turn off notifications so you can truly stay in the moment for the entire session.
